I was at a sketch outing at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, VA. Honestly, it was hot and muggy and buggy and I did not enjoy myself and I am not happy with anything I drew while I was there. This was the best of the lot.

Old Town Trolley

My friends and I went on a sketch outing in Old Town Alexandria. I decided to draw the trolley parked outside the window. My drawing ended up being a combination of a lot of trolleys because they kept driving away. But I still like how this one turned out, and I really love working with watercolor pencils again.

I arrived early to meet some friends, so I stopped for a cappuccino at Dolci Gelati in Old Town Alexandria. Very tasty and the barista was super nice. And one day I might get the hang of drawing coffee mugs.
Memorial Release for Becky

Last August, ResQgeek‘s daughter Becky (aka N-R-Jyzer) was struck and killed while riding her bicycle. We at BCinDC are organizing a memorial release on what would have been her 10th birthday: February 14, 2011. Always giving of love and hugs, Becky is remembered as embodying the true spirit of Valentine’s Day. The theme of our release in her honor is hugs, hearts, and Valentine’s day. Becky loved Winnie-the-Pooh, so we will be releasing those and other children’s books as well.
